The Base, which is aimed at college or university students and twenty-somethings, provides a platform for young people to share life, build meaningful relationships and to fulfill God given potential. This is done through various activities, which include games events, sharing meals, bible study, prayer, worship and group outings. Most of our meetings take place in people’s homes while bigger events are held at other more suitable venues.
The Base’s heart is to be a ‘home away from home’ for those studying at NUST and other Bulawayo colleges who were not born or raised in the “City of Kings”. That means members can expect to be welcomed, accepted and involved as we open our homes to them and relate as family… The BASE is there to provide practical support just like any biological family!
Not only does The BASE focus on spiritual growth but also on having fun whilst doing so. On the last Friday of each month The BASE meets for snacks and a whole lot of creative board and party games such as ‘A minute to Win it’ and others. There is also weekly football and basketball on Saturdays and Sundays.
A wide variety of NUST alumni and people working in different fields are available to build meaningful and ‘mentor’ type relationships. These connections provide the chance for students to ask questions concerning their studies or career options, they may open doors to internship or job opportunities and help their protégées to link their faith with the practicalities of everyday life.
If you are looking to be part of a Christ-filled student community for spiritual growth and still have fun, look no further. Contact the email@example.com for more information.
